"CrowPlay is a blood rite gone wrong, a pleasant nightmare at the intersection of theatre and poetry devised collectively by the company. It collides the Morrigna in Irish folklore, 2013 intelligence studies around corvidae neurobiology from University Tubingen, the marginalia of Edgar Allan Poe, and American Murder Ballads as a conspiracy of raven-women leads the audience—participatory witnesses— through an expanding series of rituals and tableaux. The ceremony is interrupted by the arrival of the mysterious Jane, who proves to be everything but the average sacrifice…"
